With a few changes this is a 5 star recipe and one I volition make many times over I'm sure. First off I must say exercise not wait till subsequently adding your onions, bell pepper, corn and tomatoes to bleed off backlog grease. One you lose too much of your veggies flavors and natural juices in doing so, for they get drained as well as the grease. Drain your ground beefiness after cooking information technology. Adding garlic is a must in my house, and so I did. I tin can run across where others say using 3 boxes of cornbread is way to much too. I made a homemade corn bread spread which would take been the equivalents of almost 1 ½ box of store bought and information technology was just right. I also took the advice of others and I increased my barbeque sauce to one cup. I also did not pre-drain my tomatoes so information technology would take more moisture. I'k glad I did not drain them either for it aided in making it moist and gave it more flavor. My husband loved it and is looking forward to leftovers tonight.

Basic recipe is good as is, except I remember to much cornbread. I doubled the recipr and two boxes of cornbread mix was to much. I mixed up 2 boxes and used nigh ane and a half. Fabricated the rest into muffins. I also used several tablesppoons of Worcestershire Sauce when browining the meat. To continue from beingness to dry out I did not drain the tomatoes. I added a can (14.5 oz) of kidney beans, tuckered ands rinsed, ii small cans of mushrooms, and a cup of shredded cheddar cheese.I mix the cheese and the barbecue sauce into the hot mixture and information technology melts through out the dish.

This recipe is actually good, but with some modifications. Nosotros halved it and put it in a 9x9. The smallest tin can of corn I could discover was viii.v oz, and I ended up using the whole thing, and used the whole tin can of diced tomatoes instead of half of information technology (and I remember the results were very skillful). Ended up calculation more bbq sauce like anybody else. Also, one box of cornbread was just enough, butI can't imagine using 3 on the full recipe; I think it would be way besides much. Don't exist scared of having the cornbread bake on superlative, only the bottom 1/four" or then will blot whatsoever liquid, and it's a good thing! That role tastes the best! I actually liked how quick and easy this recipe was, and peachy "bang for your cadet" in terms of flavor. The bbq and cornbread become together beautifully, not weird at all. would similar to try a little cheese next time.

I was looking for a bbq pork goulash recipe and came upon this on for beefiness. The subsitution worked nicely! I boring cooked some pork with a homemade bbq sauce recipe. I had a ton of it leftover, so after a copule days, I constitute this recipe. I re-heated the pork on the stovetop and added the vegetables and bbq sauce (reduced to 1/2 cup since I already cooked the meat in sauce). Then I took the advice of ane reviewer and added a can of drained, rinsed pinto beans. For the corn bread topping, I used ii xvi oz. packages of Marie Callenders mix (no trans fat, just add water). I had a lot of meat and veggies and so the topping spilled over a bit, but I really like it with a thick staff of life crust. Information technology tastes delicious!
06/27/2008
This was then quick & easy. I cutting the recipe in one-half. I used 1lb. ground beef, 1/ii chopped onion, 8oz. tin can of corn, xiv.5oz. can of petite cutting diced tomatoes and 1 pkg corn muffin mix in an 8in. square pan. I read the previous reviews and started off with 1/2 c. bbq sauce. I added about another ane/4 c. Broiled for 20 minutes. Be careful. Top looked done and even toothpick was clean but some of the cornbread underneath was a little gooey. I would bake it another 5 minutes.
02/26/2007
My two twelvemonth old loved information technology. Like others i merely used 2 boxes of cornbread mix and doubled the bbq sauce.
09/21/2006
both my swain and i liked this. i skipped the bong pepper (since he does not similar it) and added some jalapenos and other spicy peppers instead for some more season. i too mixed the corn in with the cornbread instead of putting it with the meat. the recipe does call for WAY too much cornbread - i've found that half a recipe of Homesteader Cornbread (on this site) covers the entire thing in a 9x13 pan.
07/07/2005
This recipe is succulent! My husband loves it and it's so easy to make. I did add together a little Worcestershire sauce when browning the beef & onions. Besides, I used one loving cup BBQ sauce. Information technology is definitely a family favorite.
02/04/2008
This was absolutely succulent. I made ii changes: 1) I just used one package of corn bread mix. Three boxes seemed just style too much and carby. 2) I added garlic pulverization to the beef as it was browning. I drained the beefiness grease Earlier I added the veggies.
02/20/2008
This was excellent! My xix mo old loved it. I used one lb hamburger, 1/2 cup of barbeque sauce, two boxes of corn bread and 1 whole tin can of undrained tomatoes. I volition definitely make this again.
03/23/2010
This was pretty expert simply needed a few added things to give information technology 5 stars. I modified it a little with the suggestions of others: I simply used 1/ii an onion (1 whole onion looked like wayyy too much!), a whole xv.25oz can of corn (considering we all like corn!), just a little over 1 cup Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce, diced tomatoes due west/ onion, garlic Not tuckered, and used one Marie Callender's (16oz) package of corn bread. I browned the ground beef first with garlic salt & fresh ground pepper and then tuckered excess grease. And so I tossed in the onion, bell pepper, corn & diced tomatoes. Just...next time I recollect I'll only sautee the onion & bong pepper until tender and so toss in with the ground beef, corn & tomatoes considering the manner I did it this time, the bell peppers weren't tender enough. Then I stirred in the bbq sauce and filled a 9x13 baking dish and topped with the cornbread mix. Baked for 400degrees for 20 minutes. Now for the critique: The but BBQ sauce I like is Sweet Babe Ray'southward BUT I retrieve that for this recipe, a less sweet BBQ sauce should be used because in combination with the cornbread (which offers the sweet to the dish), it becomes As well sweetness. So to counter information technology a bit, we ended upward putting a little sour cream on the filling--peachy! Likewise to add a trivial kick, a little hot sauce (cause nosotros like things spicy). And lastly, threw in some shredded cheddar cheese--because cheese is yummy! Oh and I wouldn't use more cornbread than 16oz considering that was enough!! Hope this helps!
06/25/2011
Information technology is hard to charge per unit this recipe because afterward reading other reviews I made some of the suggested changes. I added kidney beans and cheese, and I merely used 2 boxes of cornbread mix. Nosotros didn't like the bbq sauce in this recipe. Information technology was too sweet and odd for our liking. I am going to endeavour this again, just w/o bbq sauce. I will apply taco seasoning, rotel tomatoes, and jalapeno cornbread on top.
08/24/2010
I was excited to try this recipe but not happy at all with the outcome. I served it at a pot luck at my business firm and anybody (8 people) agreed tasteless and boring.
02/22/2009
I used 1 cup of BBQ sauce, added a can of kidney beans and put a layer of abrupt cheddar cheese between the meat layer and the cornbread.I also only used 2 boxes of Jiffy Corn Muffin mix. I think information technology would be good with creamed corn in the cornbread to make information technology a piffling more than moist and we love corn! The merely negative review was from someone that doubled the sauce and halved the meat. Go figure! This recipe is and then easy and succulent! Neat leftovers for lunch too.
04/thirty/2012
This Was Sooooo Delish!!! Will Brand again and again! My Pickiest eater even gobbled this up. Not spicy at all (nosotros used the sweater BBQ sauces/ mixed ii together added 1 - ane/2 cups- perfect) I as well added 3 butcher block slices of salary, cubed into the hamburger meat and cooked it together. (I feel information technology didnt make much divergence.... Might slightly melt it earlier calculation hamburger adjacent time) We only used 1 box of jiffy corn staff of life mix... I felt it was perfect, notwithstanding my husband felt at that place needed to be more. Adjacent time we volition brand 2 batches, and utilise one -1/two boxes on each. Surprisingly to me this comes out of the pan very easily and together. I am Itching to try this recipy with chicken, or even pork.... MMMMMmmmmmm!!!!! This family'due south New Fav. My Married man said he wants this for dinner every other twenty-four hours. Yes it is that Practiced! (although we will take this more regularly merely non that regular.) Thanks sooooo Much to - themamalion!
06/22/2011
I really loved this just DH just thought it was ok. I did make "Buttery Corn Bread" instead of using boxed mixes and so I don't know how the quantity compares to how information technology would accept been, but he said he'd effort it once again with less corn staff of life on top :) I did add together most 1/4c more bbq sauce likewise - the flavor was really good, and this is very different also - yum! Oh, and I did need to bake it longer - like someone else said the cornbread looked cooked, and the toothpick came out clean but information technology wasn't cooked completely. I fabricated cuts in the top of the bread to go the heat into the uncooked layer and that helped.
04/15/2009
I would recommend using a not dearest BBQ sauce. This recipe is slap-up and we all loved it but i found it a little likewise sweetness.
08/25/2010
This was very good, I did however alter the recipe a chip to fit my needs. I left out the onion and the bell pepper. I added in a few shots of Worcestershire sauce as recommended past other reviewers. Likewise, I made the "stew" part of the casserole in a not stick skillet and then served it piping hot over leftover cornbread squares. Was really tasty! Hubby asked for me to make it once again, which really surprised me. He had 2 bowls total for supper and then another container packed for lunch the next mean solar day. I volition definitely exist making this again!
03/fifteen/2012
It was good and like shooting fish in a barrel, I cutting the meat in one-half and used full portions of everything else, still made a total 9x13 pan.
05/29/2011
VERY goooood! A must try! I added onion & garlic other then that made as said.
02/24/2009
Wonderful! I kind of eyeballed the amounts based on the reviews, and made a batch of cornbread off the cornmeal box. I cooked the whole affair in my deep 8-inch bandage iron skillet, turned out wonderful! Thank you for a great recipe--
08/23/2010
Very, very tasty just the way information technology is - no doctoring necessary! Had company and they loved it too!
02/28/2012
i followed the recipe to a T. i institute yet that in that location was way too much corn breadstuff for my liking. i've reduced the cornbread mix and make this quite often. tangy!!
01/xi/2011
Very practiced! I followed to the recipe west/ the exception of only using one pound of footing meat which is plenty for my family of five.
01/04/2009
This was good. I made the kid friendly version by eliminating the pepper altogether and using some tomato puree instead of the chunks. I find that kids will eat but about anything if it does not have visible chunks. Onions minced! Lycopersicon esculentum puree! Very tasty. Might add some kidney beans next fourth dimension.
07/28/2009
Wow! This was bully. A keeper and the but thinkg that I will think to add next time is a layer of cheese before i pour in the cornbread.
09/x/2007
I'd be willing to try this one again because the changes I made might take affected the end production. I used Rotel tomatoes which made information technology really spicy which I liked only was too hot for others. Also I didn't take enough meat and then the cornbread seemed overwhelmingly thick even though I used only half a recipe of Homesteader Cornbread (from this site per another reviewer). So next fourth dimension I try this I'll make sure to have the right ingredients. It was edible only non the best affair I've eaten.
03/25/2013
Needs a lot of help; more BBQ sauce, more than spices; too much cornbread mix
02/02/2012
A different goulash than we are use to. Hubby said to keep the recipe and try again. We decreased the cornbread, the second time making it. It calls for three boxes. I mixed up the cornbread topping seperately, one box at a time. Even at two boxes it was notwithstanding alot. I didnt put it all on height.
06/xiv/2008
Our family really enjoyed this recipe. It is very full of flavor. The only thing is, is that I used a total cup of barbque sauce not a half, it just did not seem enough. I used the Jack Daniels Original barbeque sauce. I also drained the grease after cooking the basis beefiness and and so added everything else, it just did not seem to make sense to add together everything so drain the grease. It took an hour to fix earlier going into the oven, only I exercise have 2 very small children. As well the cornbread took twice the time to melt all the wat through and was still a footling doughy. I took my husbands advie and turned the oven down to 350 then it would finish cooking without burning the cornbread. Adjacent time I will but prepare it to 350 and but cook it a little longer. At 400 it cooks the superlative as well fast but does not cook all the wat through. We will definetly make this again.
12/xi/2008
very tasty. I added pepperjack cheese under the cornbread. I would say use 3 boxes of cornbread, too.
05/01/2011
We enjoyed this greatly! I pared it downwards a scrap purely due to personal taste. I left out the onion and bell pepper, only used 1 cup barbecue sauce and two packages of cornbread mix. I added some pepper and garlic sauce to gustatory modality. Volition definitely apply this again!
03/31/2009
This is probably the all-time dish i've ever made, a huge hit with all my friends. To make a 5 star yous definitely demand to make a few adjustments to the recipe. I cut the recipe in half and only used one box of corn breadstuff like everyone else. I did not drain the tomatoes and I used a whole can instead of one-half, I actually used a can of diced tomatoes with dark-green chiles which game it a little more kick. THIS IS WHERE I Remember Made IT A 5 STAR: I replaced the ground beef with ane pound of BBQ pulled pork. I bought a bundle of Curley's Pulled Pork (which is already cooked) and cooked the veggies separately until tender then just mixed the two in the baking pan while adding some other cup or so of BBQ sauce and so melt according to the directions and savor!
10/27/2009
Fabulous recipe, quick and easy to make and delicious to eat! I did use more than BBQ sauce and less cornbread just like nigh everyone else. I also added more than spice to the meat & sauce. (I used garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, & blackness pepper.) My hubby and I loved this and then did almost of my kids. (The simply 1 who didn't like information technology said it was too spicy.) I will definitely be making this again and often!
11/13/2011
Personally, I didn't intendance for this. The family liked it, but I wasn't a fan.
07/21/2009
This was not skilful at all - will not brand this again
04/11/2010
This is uncomplicated, quick, and tasty. Some nights, that is all I want out of life! lol I've tried dissimilar sort of things to spice this upward a bit since it'due south a trivial plain on its ain.
04/30/2009
Great Dish. Definatly when ya add about one/2 yellow and 1/2 ruby-red pepper and a pocket-sized tin can of corn for more season and substance to it. I also used a dearest BBQ sause to go with the sweet corn bread and its sooo good. Great for a Family or for a twenty-four hour period of leftovers.
02/09/2009
This is a slap-up family pleaser, fifty-fifty my kids loved it! I did cutting the recipe in half (except bbq sauce) and added a layer of shredded cheese betwixt the meat and cornbread. This recipe tin easily adjust to ingredients you have on manus.
04/14/2012
Fantastic dish for a potluck or an evening meal. Always goes over well, but the secret is to use a BBQ sauce that you really like!
03/24/2009
This is a good recipe. My family and I enjoyed it. I've made it with both ane lb of meat and 2 lbs of meat. It'south fine either fashion. Using 1 lb makes this a very budget friendly meal. I only use 2 boxes of corn bread mix it would over flow if I used more than than that. I like my cornbread moist so I always mix in at to the lowest degree 1/2 cup of prepared mashed potatoes into my corn bread batter. Since I used two boxes I mixed in a total cup of mashed potatoes. Information technology makes a large departure.
01/12/2009
Peachy gustatory modality and value, not besides time consuming and yous get alot of food and taste for minimal effort. Very like shooting fish in a barrel!!!
04/08/2011
This is a five-star recipe with just a few changes: ii boxes of corn bread mix instead of 2; 3 cloves of garlic added with veggies; scarlet bell pepper instead of green; i cup of barbeque sauce instead of i/2; a few splashes of worcestshire sauce added to sauce
02/17/2009
It was ok....I added cheese which was super good, and also used the cornbread as a crust. I recollect i just wasnt in the BBQ mood, only my BF and his fam said it was good!!!
04/25/2013
Looks and smells astonishing! Added more BBQ sauce and emmited the peppers. Also threw some shredded cheese on top and added a tin can of cream corn to the Jiffy cornbread mix--2 boxes was PLENTY! Will defintley make again!
09/07/2011
improve than i expected. i may use more cornbread next time
03/08/2009
Really would have given the meal a four.5 or 5 but but gave it a 3 because of all of the modifications I made. I added a can of red beans, likewise as celery and common salt-to-taste to the ground beef. I besides added almost a 1/two teaspoon of ruby-red pepper flakes, 1/two teaspoon of pepper, and 10 dashes of tabasco sauce to spice it up a little. Gave information technology more of a chili vibe. Too, I added shredded colby-jack cheese to the top of the corn bread. Adjacent time I might add together some cheese to the ground beef mixture correct earlier putting information technology in the oven. I did use 3 boxes of corn staff of life mix. Although I liked the massive amount of corn bread on superlative...nosotros're talking nigh 2 inches of corn bread on top, my husband thought it was a little likewise much. Side by side time, I retrieve I will endeavor 2 boxes instead. Overall, with all of the changes, it turned out great. Will definitely make again since it was a really like shooting fish in a barrel and convenient recipe.
04/22/2012
This was a very delicious repast if you like anything with BBQ sauce! I did practise a piddling tweaking though! After I got done with this dish it was similar a gourmet sloppy joe with a yummy crust on information technology lol :) ....I only used 1 pound of ground beef... I saw that to be plenty. I did use i cup of BBQ sauce. I drained my meat offset. So added my veggies and let them cook for a min or two to bring out their flavour. I didnt bleed the can of diced tomatoes. Too, when cooking the basis beefiness I added some minced garlick, salt, pepper, and some red chili flakes. I put it in a 2 Qt casserole dish... When making my cornbread I but used i box of Jiffy Cornbread mix. I mixed in some diced green chilis and a piffling bit of colby jack cheese. This was a success!! My 3 yr old started singing I tried it and now i like information technology!! Def a keeper!!!
09/xviii/2007
I divide this recipe in half every bit it is just me & my husband. I cooked in an 8 X 8 goulash dish . I drained the grease prior to adding the veggies & used a a trivial bit extra BBQ sauce & only 1 pack of cornbread. I also added one clove of garlic for flavor. My hubby & I both enjoyed it & will definitely make this dish again.
02/22/2011
I made a few changes which actually made this swell.... 1) I browned the ground beef with the onion and a few cloves of minced garlic. ii) Used a 12 oz. steamer bag of corn 3) Used a 28 oz. can of diced tomatoes 4) Used over a cup of BBQ sauce 5) drained the beef/onion/garlic BEFORE adding the corn and BBQ sauce half dozen) To taste added onion and garlic poweder 6) Add some shredded colby jack cheese 7) The biggest change was that I made an 8x8 pan of cornbread and but served the beef mixture over cut squares of breadstuff. I highly recommend "Grandmother'due south Buttermilk Cornbread" from this site. This alleviates the complaint that half of the cornbread was cooked and half was still gooey.
03/03/2009
i added Worcestershire sauce, garlic and extra 1/ii cup bbq sauce. I tripled it for a big crowd and everyone loved information technology! I did employ my own cornbread recipe instead of a box though.
09/01/2011
I loved this recipe. The package of meat I got was most two ane/4# then I added an additional tomato chopped upwards. Also I used 2 boxes of corn muffin mix. Everything was perfect. I volition definitely brand this recipe again. I also call up that instead of using bbq sauce this recipe could also be made with chili powder to make it similar a chili casserole. At that place's lots y'all can do with this.
08/06/2010
Big striking with my kids who are picky eaters. My son even licked his plate:) Definite keeper! Thank you for sharing
12/30/2011
This was very good! Side by side time I make it I will use less packages of corn bread mix.
04/03/2012
Skillful season, but way too much cornbread. I'll make once again with just two boxes of cornbread and mayhap add additional ingredients such as, jalapenos or black olives. Fun and piece of cake recipe.
02/18/2009
I idea this recipe was really practiced! My husband liked it likewise. I took others communication and added some worst. sauce and garlic powder to the beef, and drained the beef earlier adding the vegetables. I didn't bleed the tomatoes.. kept liquid. I likewise used 1 whole cup of BBQ sauce, and used two boxes of Jiffy cornbread mix. two boxes was perfect. This recipe made a lot, will have leftovers:) Turned out great, definitely will keep this recipe.
01/12/2010
This reciepe is very good, my girlfriend said next time instead of cornbread to try Grand Bisquick.
09/16/2008
My husband didn't read the annotation about cutting back on the cornbread- the dark he made information technology, there was way too much cornbread but the next 24-hour interval all the juices soaked in and it was admittedly delicious! Definitely a recipe that gets better every day it's in the refrigerator! He added some BBQ sauce only it was really amend to add the sauce yourself because we like different amounts, like you would with salad dressing or spaghetti sauce (if you're like me).
05/xvi/2006
I thought information technology was pretty good I would have just used 2 packages of corn staff of life and added a fleck of liquid like v8 .. and dear on pinnacle of the cornbread , my husband said when he added the honey it made it a lot better .
05/02/2006
Gave this 4 stars! Added extra bbq sauce and too cut the corn bread by one box! Was very YUMMY and my boys (picky, picky) ate seconds! Will brand again!
10/xi/2008
This recipe was very bonny to me considering of the ease of making information technology plus already having the ingredients in the house. I used 1 lb. basis turkey and a whole can of diced tomatoes with chilis, undrained. I added a dash of garlic pulverisation, almost 3/4 C. frozen whole kernel corn, and over half of an 18 oz. bottle of "original" flavor bbq sauce. My mixture was well-nigh the thickness of chili. I simply used one box of cornbread mix, which was what I had on hand, and it was Jiffy brand (sweet). This created a crust nigh i" thick, which was plenty for united states. One reviewer cautioned against using sweet cornbread mixes, simply I liked the way it tasted versus the zesty meat mixture. My married man and I were pleasantly surprised by how easy and tasty this was, and I'll definitely make this again.
07/07/2005
I fabricated this recipe with a few adjustments afterward reading the other reviews. I used 1 one/ii c. bbq sauce (so it wouldn't be dry out) and used only 2 boxes of the corn staff of life (more than enough). I thought the recipe was just ok...tasted like something from a fast food eating place. My female parent liked it a lot, I on the other hand will not make it again, it was so and so, lamentable!
02/01/2009
This was Bully. I used 1 box Jiffy cornbread mix and cutting the ingredients in half except the can of diced love apple. This i is a keeper.
04/07/2006
I followed the recipe except added a cup of BBQ sauce instead of a one-half cup every bit per most suggestions. None of our family especially liked this. It was just besides weird with BBQ sauce. I'one thousand wondering if Taco sauce might practise amend considering of the cornbread, more than of a Mexican type dish.
11/08/2010
Side by side fourth dimension I'll make it in a deeper dish and apply only two boxes of cornbread, as I thought information technology was just too much bread. Merely, will attempt again this manner.
04/24/2009
Excellent recipe, peculiarly when using the changes suggested by other viewers. My husband and I are trying to stay healthy, and then we wanted to make this meal good for united states as well every bit tasty. Changes we made: 1) Used 96% fat free beefiness--if information technology's bachelor at your grocery store, go it! You don't have to worry about draining the grease off afterward cooking, and it tastes delicious. two) Added Worcester sauce and 2 cloves on minced garlic when browning the meat 3) Used canned tomatoes diced with roasted garlic instead of patently tomatoes. four) Did non bleed the tin can of tomatoes before adding to the mixture. 5) Used ane full loving cup of charcoal-broil sauce (use your favorite sauce here, probably the runny-blazon sauces won't piece of work as well) 6) Used merely one bag of cornbread-perfect! 7) Added shredded fat free cheddar cheese to the top subsequently spreading the cornbread mixture. When making this, it took a long time for the vegetables to soften once I added them. Next time I will add them before the beef is completely washed. Also, I was worried that the mixture was as well liquidy before I put information technology in the oven. I took out a couple spoonfuls of the liquid, so decided it was too much work. Information technology turned out perfectly. My husband absolutely LOVED this recipe, and said it was his favorite new dish. We volition be making this frequently!
02/03/2017
Good, simply 3 boxes of cornbread is definitely over kill. two would have been fine. Added only a footling more BBQ sauce. GF really liked it.
04/xx/2009
I thought this would be deilcous, but no one in my family unit liked it. I gave information technology to my cusion who basically eats anything and everything, I will actually be surprised if he fifty-fifty eats it. I followed everyones suggestions, but I gauge it is a very gustation specific recipe.
09/23/2010
This was really good, and quite piece of cake. I added peas, in add-on to the corn, and I also jazzed upwards the cornbread topping with green chiles, 1/iv tsp. basis oregano, 1/four tsp. cumin, and a pinch of sage.
08/x/2005
My husband liked this recipe, and I wasn't crazy nearly it. And then I inverse some of the ingredients to make it a Mexican Casserole. And we LOVE it!!! Thank you for the idea...
01/eleven/2009
I used two packages of cornbread and it was still WAY too much. The amount of meat mixture should be double the recipe, while the cornbread should exist about 1/3 the recipe.
01/19/2012
I think we'll endeavor 2 boxes of corn breadstuff mix next time, in that location was a bit much of it on top. Other than that, It was a VERY good dish. Very filling! I also added 2 stalks of celery and it was very practiced in it.
01/11/2006
This was really easy and tasty. I used Sweet Baby Rays BBQ Sauce, the all-time BBQ sauce ever! I left out the corn on accident. I turned effectually subsequently information technology was done cooking and saw the tin can of corn still on the counter. I also added a cup of BBQ sauce to increment the flavor. The blend of corn bread and BBQ sauce will make your family unit gobble this up.
08/12/2009
I idea this was crawly. I invited over a few friends and they enjoyed it as well I did cut it downward past a box of cornbread merely considering I didn't think it would fit in the pan but it was awesome. Took a little longer for the center to melt just thats understandable as stoves vary. I am going to try adding a tin of kidney beans to it adjacent time just for kicks! Must attempt.
eleven/01/2009
I followed the suggestions of others and added some garlic and kept the love apple juices in. I upped the bbq sauce a piffling flake and cut back on the corn bread mix. But I yet felt this was missing something. I think it needed some sort of a bite to information technology. If I ever make it once again I'd probably add some jalapeno peppers to it.
x/06/2013
I used the total amount of cornbread mix and even subsequently 45min, it wasn't completely cooked in the heart. Side by side time I volition cut the cornbread mixture in half. Otherwise, it tasted amazing.
02/22/2011
Loved the flavor. Only used 1 lb. footing beefiness. Upped the bbq sauce to 2/three c. Kids didn't similar the onions so might leave out next fourth dimension or cut dorsum. Only used 2 boxes of corn muffin mix. Easy to make then we will add together it to our list.
05/04/2008
Very good! Halved the recipe, added garlic to the meat/veggies mix, added some Texas Pete sauce, and substituted a can of tomatoes with jalepeno chilies for the obviously tomatoes (used a full can). Used simply i box of cornbread mix (Jiffy is the best!). Husband liked it, said he wouldn't change a thing!
01/15/2009
I liked it, my all-time friend thought information technology was weird, and my husband idea it tasted disgusting. Definitely cut the corn bread in half and add more BBQ sauce.

I made this tonight and information technology was good and elementary-perfect for me. I used 3 boxes of cornbread mix because when I put 2 on per the other reviewers suggestions, it seemed very thin. Being a breadstuff fan, I added the other box. Large Error. Trust me, don't practice this, the ratio is now like 3/four bread, 1/four mixture.... I volition make it with merely 2 adjacent time, lesson learned, otherwise, yummy!

I actually enjoyed this recipe, granted I did modify some aspects based on ingredients I already purchased and owning smaller pans. I spiced and cooked the meat, tuckered off the grease and added BBQ sauce (1 cup) and tomatoes. In a carve up pan, I cooked my bags of frozen corn and frozen onion/peppers. I put the meat in my pan first, threw in some cheese, then the veggies, mixed it all up, and threw in a little more BBQ sauce (considering I beloved the stuff). And then I tried all 3 boxes of cornbread considering I'm a big fan of my carbs, simply I can definitely see why people thought that was a lot. Nonetheless, it may take been more difficult to fully cover the casserole without iii boxes. I'm looking forwards to leftovers!

This volition definitely go in my recipe box, as well as be added to my listing of dinners that I can make for family and friends in demand.

The family did NOT similar this. Mostly is was the BBQ sauce. I felt it was ok. I've washed a similar recipe in the by without BBQ sauce and information technology was better. A unlike sauce would probable make a departure, only I'll likely stick with my onetime method/version instead. 2.5 stars.

Recipe is a great idea, but would make a few changes, I agree that there should be more than sauce, but I just added a little bit of chili to the mixture instead of more BBQ. Also this recipe would be GREAT if y'all used shredded beef instead of ground beef! Merely over all a WONDERFUL recipe.

Surprisingly proficient! I followed another reviewer's suggestion and added Worcestershire sauce to the beef and onions. I also doubled the amount of barbecue sauce. It fabricated cracking leftovers for lunch the next solar day.

I just don't recollect the flavors melded well together. I DID follow the original recipe, and I do believe the recipe would be better following the advice from these ratings. (1.Drain correct after browning meat, 2. Extra barbeque sauce, 3. Less than three boxes of CB mix) I do believe it may have been a footling better than, but not something I'd make more than once. No i liked information technology.

I should have read other reviews before I make this. It was a bang-up idea, merely need to change few things to my gustation. i. way way also much corn staff of life. I would just used one box next fourth dimension. 2. need some spices. black peper and jalapeno pepper would probably assist. 3. more BBQ sauce. increase to about i cup. I am even thinking making mashd white potato to lay at the bottom of the pan. I will have to update the outcome afterward I practice this.-Update: I've just made some cheesy mashed spud on the side and eat it with. It provide some saltiness and wet. To me information technology worked much better. I will do the mashed tater layer next time I will make for sure:-)

This is very yummy! I did halve it and put information technology in an 8x8 dish. I did use the whole can of tomatoes, undrained every bit several reviews suggested, but information technology was a petty too soupy. Side by side time I would maybe drain off one/2 of the liquid. I used about 1/two cup of frozen corn and 1/2 cup BBQ sauce. I sprinkled "Fiesta Alloy" shredded cheese on top of the meat mixture and used 1 box of Jiffy corn muffin mix. Turned out bang-up!

Information technology looked wonderful, just like the film. There was a little taste missing, maybe more spices and more than Barbecue sauce would have made it a little tastier. Was overall good.

Terrific recipe for folks await for a quick weeknight meal. I simply used 2 boxes of corn bread mix. I call up three would have been likewise bready. I also made with 85% ground beef to cut the fat. Simple and tasty. My family enjoyed it.

Hubby did not like ALL that much, I used a cup of BBQ sauce and he felt it needed more. two boxes cornbread mix is enough.

This is a keeper for my family. I also used two boxes of mix and tomatoes with green chiles. I used a huge onion and green pepper, and added garlic. The cornbread was a niggling sweet, so I'll look for a mix that is non and then sweet. Thank you for the nifty, like shooting fish in a barrel recipe!
